ChristChurch Bridlington Conference

7th - 9th October 2010.

A major project over the last year has been consulting with the leadership team at CurchBridlington to help them get ready for a national conference entitled

"Finding Life to Change the world".

Andy will be speaking along with Kenny Borthwick, Mark Carey & Jonathan Couper at the event. This conference aims to look at "sustainable revival to change our communities"

Andy has known the folks at Christ Church Bridlington since 1987 when he and Yvonne conducted a couple of Parish Mission for them whilst working as an evangelists with YWAM England. At that time Jonathan Couper, the Vicar, had already turned the church round and saved it from closure and was confidently prophesying growth, multi congregations and a high profile community impact; all of which have come about over the last 20 years or so.

This church does seem to have found the answers to the hard questions of how to steward a move of God whilst growing both in numbers and quality of discipleship. The themes of this conference have been lived out in the life of this fellowship and they have something to say to all of who seek the evangelization, reformation and revival for these Islands. So we are really happy that
ETLn is involved in this the first of their annual Christ Church Conferences at the Bridlington Spa Conference Centre

The theme of
Hype Free Revival is crucial, how do we walk in honesty and integrity how we host Gods presence how we deal with failure & success? These questions will all be addressed. We have become used to “revival” phenomena that rise and fall with depressing speed. The underlying direction at Christchurch has always been upwards and the presence of God has seemed to grow heavier with each year. Whilst full blown revival is a sovereign move of God there is much that we can do, to learn how to co-work with what the Spirit wants to do.

The theme
Thy Kingdom Come; a Theology of engagement is of ongoing importance. Ever since John Wimber visited the UK the theology of the Kingdom has been familiar but sometimes we have not pressed in to receive in practice all we believe in theory. In this conference we want to give an opportunity to look at how a theology of the Kingdom can inform and empower a church to fully engage with the community. Supernatural beliefs in a supernatural God need supernatural out workings. Signs and wonders need to be done to cause people to wonder and know the way to go.

The Healing on the Street event will be a very practical workshop on how to do this is your town or city for several years now the Healing on the Streets Team at Christ Church have been seeing regular healings as they go out onto the streets of the town

The theme of
Closing the Gap - being and bringing church to the community explores the importance of being a community in the community, for community and the opportunities for the church in a broken nation. Many of you will be familiar with the fact that the Chinese word for crisis is very similar in meaning to the word opportunity. Many things seen as a crisis in the land are in fact opportunities and invitations from the Holy Spirit to creative spiritual entrepreneurial activity.

This mix of theory and practice, coming out of a proven track record, makes this conference an unusual opportunity not to be missed. We encourage all of you who are able to come to fill out the online booking form
HERE right now and join us in October at Bridlington Spa.
